The IndoChine tradition continues in Kuala Lumpur with the opening of CoChine Lounge and Restaurant &
Bar SaVanh. Eight Cambodian sandstone sculptures mark the entrance to the latest addition to the
IndoChine family. Upon entering, guests will tread over a fish pond on their way to the main bar.
An atrium ceiling allows light to seep through onto the banyan tree that grows in the middle of
the bar. A tranquil water feature engulfs the five senses with peace and serenity. The CoChine
Lounge & Bar SaVanh adds layers of ambience with candles and incense, lit every evening as a prelude
to an exciting night at Bar SaVanh.
With a menu not found anywhere outside the street of Phnom Penh, Vientiane or Luang Phrabang, the
restaurant offers the exciting tastes of unique herbs and spices in a wide selection of traditionally
prepared Indochinese dishes from the Delta Trinity.
The open air well at Bar SaVanh has been specially created to infuse an open and organic feel to
the interior. We aim to create warmth and comfort with the abundant use of natural elements
like foliage and the water feature. Together with coffee sponged walls the owner and Group
CEO, Michael Ma, was inspired to recreate the enticing and mesmerizing scenic beauty of
Cambodia. As a result, Bar SaVanh has a cozy and warm aura, complemented with nature.
IndoChine is about adventure, dreams, the alluring past integrated into modern living and this is
best reflected in its unique interior decor. The furniture and artefacts used here are from a variety
of different regions and cultures reflecting the 17th and 18th century. Sukothai artefacts are
presented alongside Thai Opium beds specially wrapped in silk for a modern look and feel.
Enjoy the diverse culinary tastes of Vietnamese, Laotian and Cambodian cuisines in dishes such as
the authentic Cha Gio - Vietnamese Spring Rolls, deep fried rice paper rolls filled with fresh
mushrooms and bean vermicelli with crisp lettuce, mint leaves and a traditional IndoChine sauce
and the all time favourite Tom Som Laotian - green papaya salad.
One of our highly recommended entrees is Laotian Larb Kai - marinated chicken in lemon juice,
spiced with chilli, roasted rice powder, mint leaves and pine nuts served on a bed of lettuce
and fresh garden vegetables.
The main bar, which is a 5-meter long square island bar, is always readily stocked with a full
range of wines, beers and cocktails, which guests can select from while enjoying the plush antique furniture of IndoChine.
Bringing the best of Indochinese food to Kuala Lumpur, Bar SaVanh serves a selection of light fare
to snack on late into the evening. Check in with us for special events and promotions or simply show
up for a cocktail and chill out under the Banyan tree at Bar SaVanh.
