Atrium is the latest outlet from the folks at Gastrodome who have introduced KL'ites to seven
other much loved restaurants and a spa - La Bodega Tapas bar, The Dining Room @ La Bodega,
La Bodega Deli, La Bodega Lounge, La Bodega @ Bangsar Shopping Center, Telawi Street Bistro,
and Ozmosis Health and Day Spa - over the past seven years.
Chic, sophisticated, decadent … Atrium is the place to be and be seen.
The concise menu focuses on high quality ingredients with gastronomic offerings that are well
thought out and consistently excellent in preparation and taste. House specialities include
the warm salad of char-grilled japanese aubergine with buffalo mozzarella, braised lamb shoulder
rack with chilli and lime risotto, and the crispy barramundi. The piste de la resistance is most
certainly the grilled beef - rump, t-bone, sirloin, eye fillet, Scotch fillet, rib eye, cooked to
your taste with side orders and sauce of your choice.
Lunch specials include the green tea soba noodles with dashi broth and smoked five spice duck breast,
the Greek style salad, and the linguini tossed with lobster bisque, which never fails to delight.
A formidable array of continental-inspired gourmet sandwiches are available - the Thai style dory
fish in pita bread and the Lebanese style lamb roll with tomato salsa, minted cucumber and hummus
are just two of the many tantalizing choices. And if there's still room at the end, there's always
the warm chocolate citrus tart with macadamia ice cream, or the caramelised banana flamed with kahlua
to seduce even the most decadent diner.
The comprehensive and competitively priced wine list with witty tasting notes show cases carefully
selected Old and New World wines whilst the beverage list features an extensive selection of cocktails
(the flavoured caipiroskas are a must!) whilst a thoughtful variety of vodkas and bottled beers also
provides for delicious indecision.
One of the key talking points besides the great food and attentive service is the décor of the outlet.
The designers have carefully ensured the transparency of zones to allow people to see and be seen.
The grand reception area, the Gosset Champagne Bar, indeed makes for a spectacular welcome with
its double height ceiling, convex bar with an impressive 17 foot wine and bubbly display, and art
deco style mirror and chandelier. You can't but feel a sense of arrival …
The interior design of the bistro is clean and contemporary with muted olive greens, browns and
earthy tans. The subdued lighting combined with the high-end, pressed bamboo furniture from Budji
and dark jute matting adds a sophisticated yet tropical feel to the setting. A number of pieces of
artwork festoon the walls, works from the likes of local rising star Yusof Majid and Jai (Jalaini Abu
Hussan), one of the most celebrated artists of the new generation of Malaysian artists.
The bistro opens on to a secluded al fresco terrace under a canopy, where a cozy ten covers can enjoy
a rather intimate dining experience amidst stone sculptures and a water feature. At the front of the
building, the main terrace bustles with those looking to emulate our trendy European counterparts,
those who sip on thirst quenching drinks and watch the world go by.
Walk up the stairs and you will find leather slung sofas and mid-height tables in the lounge. With the
fire on ice fireplace (you've got to see for yourself!) this is the place relax and indulge in a glass
of bubbly with friends whilst idly engaging in small talk. The bar is most certainly a party destination
filled with beautiful people swaying to the DJ's seductive manipulation of tunes, sipping on the bartender's
head spinning concoctions and gazing down at those seated at the champagne bar, perhaps enticing them with
a flirtatious gesture to join them upstairs …
Atrium is set to make a mark on the KL party and gastronomy scene. This is your invitation to come and
join us … you wouldn't want to miss out would you?
